Commercial counsellors urged to facilitate exports
PM Nguyen Tan Dung called on commercial counsellors to serve as a bridge for domestic enterprises to enter foreign markets.
The Government chief made the point at the Conference of commercial counsellors on February 26 in Ha Noi.
PM Dung highlighted that the industry and trade sector in general and commercial offices and counsellors in particular contributed to national development.
He called on commercial offices and counsellors in over 50 countries and territories to uphold their tasks and responsibilities to do more for the country and people.
According to PM Dung, Viet Nam has deeply integrated into the global economy and revised the legal system with a view to creating favourable ways for business operation to achieve less costs and higher competitiveness.
It is necessary to seek and broaden export markets for goods and services; early discover trade barriers; prevent emerging trade disputes; and protect the domestic markets in accordance with Viet Nam’s integration commitments.
The PM also noted the importance of disseminating international integration commitments; tapping advantages; and minimizing negative impacts.
PM Dung called on localities to support trade agencies and boost trade and investment promotion activities to broaden export market.
He also recommended the MoIT perfect organization of commercial offices.
Finally, commercial councils were asked to serve as a bridge for domestic enterprises to spur investment activities and supply information on export mechanisms and policies in foreign countries and in Viet Nam./.
